More exciting news from ExFo about the next Ancient period sets they will be releasing with a target date of Sept 1015. These will be the Macedonians, and to say they will be comprehensively covered would seem an understatement! There will be 13 sets; Alexander & Companion Cavalry (long-sleeved), Philip & Companion Cavalry (short-sleeved), Thessalian Cavalry, Allied Greek Cavalry, Prodromoi Lancers, Paeonian Cavalry, Phalangites, Hypaspists, Agrianian Infantry (Javelin & Sling), Cretan Archers, Allied Greek Hoplites and Greek Mercenaries in Asia! expeditionaryforce.com.sg. |

It will be. Such an overwhelming release is pretty much unprecedented in 54mm plastic. Will be doing a review in Toy Soldier Collector magazine toysoldiercollector.com |

Marc; Presumably they will be the same as the existing Persians, Greeks and Thracians; namely $29 USD for 9 infantry or 5 mounted. The prices do include worldwide postage. link They also offer "army" deals which contain 12 packs for $310 USD, which is a savings of almost $40 USD on the lot. Again, postage is included. link Now if they do an elephant, or at least provide a howdah and crew for the excellent Safari elephants, that will be a game-changer. Same with a good chariot for the later Persians. Bill |

hmmm, that is what I feared. I had hoped I had misunderstood the website, but that price point for 9 figures seems top ended to me, compared to, say, AiP or HaT. I like them, but they seem a bit expensive, which is a shame as they look good. |

I know I am a lone voice in the wilderness on this one but I really don't get the complaints about price. A packet of fags, a couple of beers, a burger…and the enjoyment lasts just moments. A pack of plastic toy soldiers and the pleasure goes on for the rest of your life! These are exceptionally good figures too, and are venturing into new eras in a comprehensive way. The prices are higher than AIP and HaT but IMHO they are still VFM if they are delivering what I want. |
