Delightful looking fellows! You've painted the white superbly, especially considering the scale. |

Nice! Would be interested in how you achieved the white look |

Frederick, the white is done as follows: - White basecoat - Shading with a mix of black wash (Citadel) and Grey wash (Vallejo) 50%-50% - Highlight on white. |

The gold fabric looks nice. Is it highlighted by drybrushing or washing? How do you clearcoat your plastic miniatures? I'm always curious what other people doing plastics have come up with to help the paint job survive handling. The last (small) batch of plastics I did was block-painted and "dipped", and while the Minwax Tudor polyurethane makes a wonderfully durable protective layer, it doesn't look as nice as your painting technique. You need a really clear varnish, and one that doesn't yellow (ever!!!). - Ix |

The "gold" is actually 3 shades of yellow. I prime them with normal spray primer, after washing the models on soapy warm water to remove release agents. What really keeps the paint in place and prevents chipping is keeping your fingers away. Once you're done painting, glue the models on their bases and from then on only handle them by the bases, avoiding touching the actual models at all costs. That's what I do and it works just fine with my collection of 1/72 |
