Phipps has a fairly limited perspective, he is chiefly interested in the early careers of Napoleonic Marshals. Fortescue is a pretty good starting point for the British involvement, then there are various memoirs relating to specific campaigns. Old stuff like Alison and Cust can give you a good overview but are rather dated and i wouldn't take any of it for gospel. Plenty of stuff online, especially of you read French. |

Another vote for George Nafziger's collection of materials on the French Revolutionary Wars; or darn near any other war for that matter. |
