The Harford Area Weekly Kreigspeilers (HAWKs) are hosting their annual gaming day on 10 October in Havre de Grace (upper) Maryland just off I-95.

Many, many, many kid-friendly events! Bring a youngster!

We're even hosting one of our Armies for Kids Giveaway events in which all the players (under 10 years old) go home with full armies to game with their buddies.

Barrage is an annual, low-key event with lots of good games in a nice venue at a reasonable price.

Take a look at the Web page: link I think you will be impressed with the number and breadth of games.

Age of Glory and other dealers will be present. This is an old-school event in which the dealers are set up along the walls surrounding the gaming area. You can peruse their wares between turns or at your leisure.

… And we'll be adding additional games over the next couple of weeks, so check back to the Web page frequently.

Another vendor will be C&B Minis carrying the Essex line.

The second link does not seem to work (at least for my machine).

Also, if you like Black Powder games especially SYW or WAS, Mr. Tilson's games are a great introduction to the period (I've played in six of his games at various conventions and he is a great teacher of the rules and the scenarios always went down to the last turn).

There is an extra 'period' after html in the URL. Delete it and your there.

Looks like a larger game lineup than last year. Did you add more tables?

surdu200520 Aug 2015 1:08 p.m. PST

We have the same number of tables as last year, but we had two empty ones. This year we only have one empty table. We have also added the second tournament. So, yes, we're a little bigger than last year.

The venue I think will support over 200 participants. At any given time we will have about 15 games running (not counting the two tournaments) with about 6-8 players each. We have room for more games as the number of attendees continues to grow ten or so a year. We will likely have to rent tables next year in addition to what is available at the venue.

We are also thinking about making next year's game day begin with an evening session on Friday and dinner available on site -- so a 1.5 day event. No decisions yet.
