So my latest ship project has been GHQ's 20 gun sloop, and here are some photos of how it turned out. I'm a big fan of these small unrated vessels, and this was a lot of fun.

Lots more photos here if you're interested:

Thanks!

Great work. How long does it take to do all of that (assembly, painting, rigging, etc.)?

Sweet!

What are you using for your rigging. It looks nice and you have the right amount of rigging for a gaming figure. Looks nice and it looks practical. Lloyd

Really nice. I could never paint ships, so I am SOOOO jealous. grin

Thanks for your comments guys.

79th PA, I'd say that if I work on it steadily in the evenings without letting myself get distracted by other projects (my usual downfall) it takes about 2 weeks to finish a model.

Lloydthegamer, I use nylon paintbrush bristles for rigging. That way I don't have to tie any knots or put tension in the lines, though the end result is not as strong as if I were using thread.

Love the paint job James! Wish I had your young eyes.

James,
Love the ship. my smaller ships do not come up so good. Your ships make me try harder. Thanks for pushing me into doing better work.

A magnificent job, I despair when I have to do these little boats. Congratulations on the end result. A very clean finish your ships.

I hope to see more of your work,

Julián

Great work! The sailing ship pages of the GHQ catalogue are always dangerous eye candy!

Thanks very much guys, I really enjoy seeing each of your own work. Vol, I'd be happy to have your scratchbuilder's hands. Julian, your own small craft look gorgeous. And Rory, I have to respectfully disagree, having seen your beautiful work. Keep them coming guys!

Oh, GrandMasters of Rigging: are there any videos online that might guide my clumsy fingers onto the path of Righteousness?
