I recently laid my hands on a small force of 25mm Citadel Vikings and I would like to add to it. I am aware that many of these old figures are still available from Foundry but wondered what other ranges would fit along side of them size wise and possibly stylistically. Can the gentle folk of TMP offer any suggestions? Thank you in advance, TW |

Citadel…. should work well with Old Glory, Foundry, and Gripping beast. I have all of these in my collection. |

Citadel, Foundry ,and Gripping Beast in this pic:
Old Glory are crap. Don't buy them, even as filler, unless you just don't care about having nice minis! |

Disagree re OG, the Arthurian/Dark Age Saxon range are some of their best figures, stand up very well to t'others. I do find GB lead a bit bigger, their plastic fits in better with "normal" 28mm. |

I remember when I worked for Games Workshop, I had a caller complain to me about prices. His counter to my comment that GW prices were for the most part competitive were the prices for Old Glory. I stated that OG's figures did not have the quality of GW figs, and he got angry and retorted that gaming figures didn't need quality. Interesting viewpoint…. Sorry to threadnap, your OG is crap comment stirred a memory. |

IMO OG makes perfectly acceptable rank and file figures in most ranges, and some are in fact very good (Arthur/Saxon range, Late Ottomans for eg) but I do quite often find myself using other Mfrs for the elites and cavalry in a period (but the bulk of the spend is to OG – so not too shabby a business model :) ) |

Whilst my first go to is always Gripping Beast, Dixon has a few really nice Viking figures that fit in great with the older Citadel ones. Especially the raiding party is excellent. link |
