Think: A-Spanish B-? C-French Hussars D-British Hussars E-Fr Guard Horse Arty F-Spanish Tally Ho! |

B) Are French dragoons, elite company. With yellow facings but green collars, 20th, 21st or 23rd regiments are likely. Impossible to narrow it down more since the gauntlet cuffs cover the jacket cuffs and cuff patches. C) Are indeed French hussars, 2nd regiment. |

The French Hussars are Foundry, that's all I can recognise, Tally Ho! |

A – Look like French Gendarmes d'Espagne to me? |

A- Figures are Gendarmes d'Elite – The lancers look to be converted from the standard bearers (3 tier holster coverings)and painted to look like French Gendarmes d'Espagne B – looks like Guard Horse Grenadiers painted as elite Dragoons, see the 3 tier holster flaps again on the Officer. |

Hi Daler, The figures that are not Foundry are old Bicorne figures. I have a few of them. |

British Hussars are Hinchliffe. As are the French horse artillery crew. Suspect some of the others are Hinchliffe which can be bought from Hinds miniatures. |

I love a good quiz. Great fun. B certainly are not Garde Grenadiers a Cheval, parce que ils have des epaulettes, et les Immortals did not have such. Alos thye were all clean shaven. Could they be early Carabiniers? (even with a square portmanteau) Elite dragoons still the most likely. How clever though to spot the three tiered holster on the officer…….must admit, that says any of three heavy cavalry guard units.. Mind you, his one epaulette should then be gold for any unit! |

Thanks for the heads up on the brands. I had never liked the figures on the Foundry site much, but it now seems that maybe I just didn't like the style in which they were painted on the website. This painting style really seems to suit them better. |
