I'll confess that I'm not familiar with this particular variant.

Is it me or did someone not follow the instructions? :) Like G Dog, I have never seen this particular variant.

But… you like it or not? (smile)

It's a variant alright, a builder's variant. The model builder decided to put the main gun in the hull!

Nice paint job though!

It's a legitimate WWII Japanese Command tank – Shi-Ki variant of the Chi-Ha:

Well that is interesting.

Somewhat confusing. Is that actually a turret? If it traverses, without a gun (or even a machine gun), what is the purpose?

bledin20 Aug 2015 9:26 a.m. PST

It has a type 97 machine gun poking out the rear of the turret, as does the standard Chi-Ha.

Grey Legion, it does have a machine gun as evident by the photo above and the link posted by bledin.

Glad you like it my friend.

Grey Legion: sometimes it's nice to be able to look around without turning your head :)
