I was very impressed by the rules. Simple yet deep enough to have you thinking about tactics. It all seemed to work well. We did not use the fighter or boarding rules just the core ship rules. I actually prefer the rules over Star wars armada but I just love the star wars ships. I have never had an interest in the Halo IP so the ships don't do much for me but the rules are great fun.
The data cards are simple enough that I have already started to think how I might be able to come up with stats for Star destroyers and Battlestars to add to the game. Ravenstars Battlestars look about the right scale. The Halo rules are the first "fleet" rules I have played that really allow fleets of ships to be used. I am looking forward to some games with the fighters to see if they work as well as the rest of the game.
We had 4 players and had two games. Not bad for the first time playing the rules. Both games can only have been a little over an hour each. Well done Spartan games.

Yea, those human vessels are very uninspiring.

The GZG and others are far better, so perhaps a new fleet for them.

The alien ships are interesting.

I think the human ships have a certain Sulako look to them. I kinda like em.

Stealth, do you think the rules can be adapted to Star Wars? Cuz I don't particularly love the Armada rules.

@ mandt2. Yes I think once we have played them a bit more it will be easy to come up with data cards for star wars ships. I don't think the Star War Armada ships would look right with the Halo ones but I think studio Bergstrom scale ships would work with the Halo ships. I enjoyed the rules as much, or more even than Full thrust.

Mako11 and I will have to agree to disagree, at least I can see the 'bricks' in person. I think they've real possibilities.

I am disappointed to hear positive comments on the rules themselves. Our distributors don't seem to have it yet, and I am a big fan of figs made cheap by the failure of the supporting ruleset. *sigh*

My only hope is you're a former FA fanboy, and we have very different viewpoints; thin hope that.

'…as much or even more than Full Thrust' means we both have the same go-to rules.

All this and the dentist in the afternoon…
