In case I miss people in the area with this announcement.
The idea is to get some new people exposed to miniature gaming and DBA, but if any players in the area are interested, please join us…

Post here or on the FB event list trying to get an idea of who is coming. We have loaner armies for newbies, but please bring your favorite army (15mm if you have one).

We will be using the 2.2+ rules amendments.

Posting this here with the info below from the flyer. So yes, I understand that people on this board don't need an explanation on what DBA is :)

Posting the Generic flyer info below……

On Saturday September 12th from noon to 10PM there will be a "DBA" game day at St. Paul Lutheran Church and School, 406 S. Ballenger Highway Flint, Mi 48532

It will be held in the Science room (look for the flintcon signs)

DBA (De Bellis Antiquitatus)….. Is a miniatures game system designed to handle battles from the Biblical to the late Medieval era. Swords, Shields, Horses, Chariots…. and even Elephants!

The game has a very elegant and easy to learn rule system. Experienced players will be there to teach the rules and everything needed to play will be provided so you can jump right into a game.

A standard sized 2 player battle only takes about an hour to play. So you can come and try a quick battle or join in the mini-DBA campaign which will be fun for experienced and new players…. Each player taking a country and fighting it out to conquer their neighbors and expand their empire.

Admission: $0 USD (that's free) Kids (recommend for 10 and up) accompanied by an adult if under 15 please…

17 people show up for our DBA Game Day and one was Canadian, so it was an "international" event.

7 of our attendees had never tried any version of DBA before. Three of them had never played miniatures.

Here we are setting up:

Orcs vs. Romans (yes we had a couple of "fantasy entries"- the Orcs of the Steppes and the Dwarves of the Frozen North)

The Orc Overlord:

Don't let the "smile?" fool you, he is not a rookie…

The final result of the campaign (wrapped up around 10PM), the Hungarians took over the world with a few independent states like Germany, Wends, Carthage and France….

Looks like a fun game day with great looking maps/terrain.
