Rob and I played a couple of CoC games last Saturday at Gigabites Café in Marietta, GA.
WE used the Japanese Island Defense list and the 8th Army list for the Aussies.
First game was a standard Patrol scenario and then we switched sides for an Australian attack across the creek. Australians went down in both. I managed to have 5 phases in a row for the Japanese in the Patrol game and then lost my barrage and could not get a FO or even a 2" mortar going in the second.

Agreed Beautiful terrain boards. Nice AAR. Thanks for posting!

Thanks. They are not 'boards' though. Just fabric placed over Styrofoam chunks. I use the same technique for 6 and 15mm games. Heckuva lot more versatile and cheaper than making specific boards. Set up and break down each took about 20 minutes. And storage and transport is pretty simple too.

I really dislike the rules, but your terrain and figures are great. I really Ike the scenario idea also.

Amazing looking game.

Oddball, what's wrong with the rules?

Once again, really nice stuff, Mark. Thanks for sharing.

That is just gorgeous.

I'm very curious as to how you put the table together. I'm assuming teddy bear fur for the fields, but what did you use for the trees along the creek? It looks like you based them in clumps?

Whatever you did, it looks great, and I'd like to try some of your techniques.

I like the rules, but you can have bad runs of luck. The patrol phase is the most innovative, part of the rules. Also it has a nice way of avoiding hidden movement, as the "Jump Off Points" allow multiple possible locations. On the downside the opposition will always pop up in the worst location, then again your troops will pop up in the best locations too.
