Howdy,

Same scenario as at Historicon, different players, different location ---> very different game.

The air rules were updated, dropships (aircraft) moved and fired during the normal fire phases.

The key event during the game was the dust storm generated by the fog of war cards. Visibility was very limited during the game, and forces had to get up close and personal.

Several photos below:

Photo 2 - MDF advance guard headquarters & gunships

Photo 3 - MDF advance guard light company confronts CDU scout walker

Photo 4 -CDU dropships deploy mecha battalion near the factory complex.

Photo 5 - CDU interceptor zaps (poofta!) MDF gunship

Photo 6 - MDF approaches the CDU held factory complex.

Photo 7 - MDF assault on the factory.

Photo 8 – MDF dropships move infantry to the rear of the factory.

Photo 9 - Meanwhile on the other flank, the MDF light battalion bumps noses with CDU mecha.

Photo 10 - Big poofta near the bridges

Photo 11 - End of the game after three hours of play.

It was fun, I got to play with folks I not had the chance to play with in more than a year. Overall, the system works well. The biggest issue is famailiarity with equipment and charts, and that can only come with time and experience. In other words while a Tiger tank is familiar and threatening, judging a corresponding mecha is not obvious.

The next game will likely be smaller.

Ponder on,

Howdy,
