I have a business trip to Toledo---with a rather long lay over in the area. Any must visit store or club in a 50mi radius?

I grew up about 80 miles from there and unfortunately this still holds true:

Don't you know Ohio ended up with Toledo after losing the Toledo War?

What time of store/club you looking for? Historical, Fantasy, Sci-Fi? Boardgames? Miniatures? What dates will you be here?

Fort Meigs +1.

The area has some interesting history. The Maumee river is one of the old canoe routes from Lake Erie into the Ohio country. The ruins of British Fort Miamis is in one of Toledo's city parks, at the lower end of the Maumee Rapids – Fort Meigs is at the upper end.

The Fallen Timbers battlefield is just a few miles down the highway. The Ohio Nations made their stand at Fallen Timbers, counting on support from the British at Fort Miamis. There are memorials at the battlefield, and some interpretive markers, as well as a pretty and not too strenuous nature preserve/trail through the water meadows of the Maumee. When I visited, someone had left tobacco in a basket at Turkeyfoot Rock.

Fort Meigs is a must see. fortmeigs.org. The Visitor Center is closed on Monday and Tuesday. HMGS Great Lakes sponsors several miniatures events every year at the fort. Our historical miniatures conference,"Drums at the Rapids" is on Armed Forces Day. I run The Toledo War every year and the score to date is Ohio 10 and Michigan 6. I live in Toledo and north of the Old State Line, so I claim duel citizenship!
