Hi all – does anyone have the updated lists that I believe are on the Old School Wargaming yahoo site – a site I never seem to be able to join/access. My son is playing these and I thought it might be cool if I could find some updates for him. Many thanks |

I never rated the morale rules for these. I thought they let the set down which was a pity. |

Ah, but in modern parlance they are a toolbox which let the player customise to suit their own ideas |

Back in the day we extended the data tables for armoured vehicles to cover a wider range of tanks but never bothered with morale we played until one side was clearly beaten. Mind you that was when we were teenagers, young and silly. I'm not young any more! |

I clearly need to work on morale or something as my son keeps parking his sherman to the side of my stug and killing it Number 2 son likes his tanks to get up close and personal… |

The original rules as published in Meccano magazine (1968-1970) included morale rules. I think they were missing from the hardback book issued later. I have s copy of the book somewhere, but can't see it ATM. There was a PDF of the magazine articles online a few years back. They were pretty simple. You test on every move when a unit takes casualties or has its vehicle destroyed when being transported. Start on 10, add one D6, subtract 1 for - loss of commander - if in open - if out of communication with next level of command - if 25% casualties - if transport destroyed this turn deduct 2 if 50% casualties add 1 if in hard cover If the total is still 10 or more, unit is OK. If not, it goes to ground. It can try to rally again next turn, but if it fails again it has to fall back a move. A total of five fails and the unit routs off table. |

I didn't know it had been extended/revised. As I have the original, I passed by the chance of a reprint but if he has extended te charts then maybe. |

Geniusly simple morale rules. All you actually need.. Might add in additional minus for under air attack or artillery fire maybe. |
