After a bit of humming and hawing I finally bought a 3' x 3' Cobbles Terrain mat from Deep Cut Studios. It arrived quickly through the post yesterday, so I thew it down on the gaming table to see how it was…

I'd not heard of these guys before – their stuff looks great and not insanely priced either like many mats.

I bought one the other week and I'm really happy with it. It was a standard 6x4 mat but I had a 4" hex overlay printed onto it and I can't recommend their service highly enough.

They look very good! I suppose I could use the swamp version for a jungle mat, too. I had never heard about these guys before, either. I will have to keep them in mind when I get deeper into terrain building.

One of the reasons I've never bought a printed mat before was price, but their prices are pretty resonable. They also have a few designs that are at least difficult to find elsewhere, like the cobble stones.

Having revisited their site due to this post, I can see they've expanded their range quite significantly since my last visit. A variety of terrain, in a variety of sizes and materials.

Now, if they only did an modern urban street mat, similar to the Mantic's Mars Attacks mats but bigger, they'd definitely be getting an order from me…

Just ordered one, though I wish they'd made it in a larger size.

uglyfatbloke,

they do a 4' x 6' version

Cheers for that!

Oooh – I like them a LOT – I will ask if they do space mats as well – did not see those on the site but there was a teaser photo referring to an asteroid mat.

I need the cobbles, a desert and a space mat (not all in one mind…)

Excellent link – thanks

Au contraire Marc; cobbled desert in space is just what we all need…where better for our SS confederate ninja zombie berserkers?
