How many?

53Punisher18 Aug 2015 7:12 a.m. PST

It depends, but on average probably 1-4.

Rrobbyrobot18 Aug 2015 7:14 a.m. PST

On average, less than one. I tend to invest money in rules I like. I'm most definitely not a fashionista. I've been playing my most recent rules purchase, Bolt Action, for the last two years. Before that I bought the newest version of The Sword And The Flame some time ago. I'm not even sure how long ago that was. If it aint broke, why fix it?

The Beast Rampant18 Aug 2015 7:31 a.m. PST

In the last twelve months, I've probably bought ten printed rulebooks (Osprey has been a significant contributor lately).

Maybe about twenty PDF rulebooks. At least half of these were "why the heck not?" cheap.

mad monkey 118 Aug 2015 7:32 a.m. PST

If you include rpg's, then I'd have to say 6-8 +.

Great War Ace18 Aug 2015 7:36 a.m. PST

ZERO

Winston Smith18 Aug 2015 7:48 a.m. PST

Counting Flames of War supplements, maybe 3 per year.

avidgamer18 Aug 2015 7:51 a.m. PST

2-3

Dynaman878918 Aug 2015 7:56 a.m. PST

1 to 4, include boardgames and it goes up to 12 a year

Andrew Walters18 Aug 2015 7:57 a.m. PST

Minis only? Six, maybe?

Plus another four RPGs.

And I play none of them. I play the ones I already have. There's probably something wrong with this, but it seems to make me happy.

On average, one

Joes Shop Supporting Member of TMP18 Aug 2015 8:04 a.m. PST

1 – 2.

RavenscraftCybernetics18 Aug 2015 8:14 a.m. PST

1 or 2

Crow Bait18 Aug 2015 8:14 a.m. PST

Seven so far this year.

Coyotepunc and Hatshepsuut18 Aug 2015 8:43 a.m. PST

On a good, well-funded year, I will buy a few every month (minis and rpgs combined.) I like exploring different ways of doing things.

On a bad year (like the current one) I only buy what is absolutely necessary, and I solicit donations first.

dandiggler18 Aug 2015 8:43 a.m. PST

I'd say 4-6. I've had a few years where it was 10+ easily but I try to be more sensible these days as I rarely get around to playing most.

Cyrus the Great18 Aug 2015 8:47 a.m. PST

Probably 4-8.

2 to 3. I am a sucker for eye candy.

DColtman18 Aug 2015 9:01 a.m. PST

Way more than I use – I'm a total rules junky.

Keelhauled18 Aug 2015 9:37 a.m. PST

2-4 a year

Mute Bystander18 Aug 2015 10:01 a.m. PST

You would have to ask Two Hour Wargames for this year's running total (more on the way that I will almost certainly purchase.)

Rich Bliss18 Aug 2015 10:04 a.m. PST

1 or 2. I tend to decide on a set of rules and then stop buying for that period.

Texas Jack18 Aug 2015 10:20 a.m. PST

1 to 2, so one and a half I reckon.

Wackmole918 Aug 2015 10:47 a.m. PST

3 or more. I like rulebooks

John Armatys18 Aug 2015 10:53 a.m. PST

Very variable, most years none or one, but in 2014 I bought all five Neil Thomas books.

Ashurman18 Aug 2015 10:53 a.m. PST

Probably average 1-3 over the last 3 years…before that, 3 in 15 years!

Patrick Sexton Supporting Member of TMP18 Aug 2015 10:54 a.m. PST

1-4

BuckeyeBob18 Aug 2015 11:56 a.m. PST

1-3 per year.

Weasel18 Aug 2015 12:18 p.m. PST

In a year? 10-15.

Mooseworks818 Aug 2015 12:25 p.m. PST

Counting RPGs so far this year I have bought….25+ from mostly used sources.

If just strictly wargame rulebooks not box sets or S&T then…5

One Hour Wargames
The Complete Book of Wargames
Memoir '44 Campaign Book 1
Memoir '44 Campaign Book 2
For Queen & Planet 1
For Queen & Planet 2

And have just signed up for the Hammer & Forge kickstarter which will include another rulebook. Which has piqued my interest in acquiring Advanced SBH and the Fightin Fungi books too.

So far my overwhelming favorite has been the first one back in January, One Hour Wargames.

KSmyth18 Aug 2015 1:18 p.m. PST

I would guess 2-4 depending on what's new and available. However, I'll usually avoid copies of the new glossy, hardback money pits just on principle.

platypus01au18 Aug 2015 2:23 p.m. PST

1-2

Personal logo etotheipi Sponsoring Member of TMP18 Aug 2015 2:45 p.m. PST

0.25

DalyDR18 Aug 2015 3:10 p.m. PST

Maybe 1.

Shaun Travers18 Aug 2015 3:10 p.m. PST

at least 50. likely larger. PDFs, old rules, new rules. I am a junkie.

jdpintex18 Aug 2015 4:49 p.m. PST

0.25 to 0.5. In other words maybe one every other year or so.

Ragbones18 Aug 2015 5:44 p.m. PST

1 or 2.

Personal logo Doctor X Supporting Member of TMP18 Aug 2015 7:43 p.m. PST

Maybe one a year now.

OSchmidt19 Aug 2015 8:26 a.m. PST

Not one in the last 20 years.

Old Contemptibles04 Sep 2015 3:43 a.m. PST

2-3
