coz I took an oath of allegiance today at my citizenship ceremony. Very moving it was too – wasn't expecting to be quite so affected.
Nothing to do with Wargaming, but I did tell you, as Sparker, 4 years ago when I got my Residency, so thought I'd update you…. Cheers Mates! |

No way! …did he just say …Sparker? Sparker, you returned? Man, I'm your biggest fan and you're my biggest idol. My little brother, Matthew, he likes you more than I do. We should hang out together. Congratulations on your citizen ceremony in Australia. (I want to belong somewhere, someday …somehow) |

A nature-loving country Beneath whose golden wattles The creek is fringed with newspapers And lined with broken bottles. Far in her distant outback Still whose cities chafe Find hidden pools where bathing Is relatively safe. (& Dorothea McKellar weeps…) |

Thanks all! Well I took my oath on the 9th floor of the Wollongong Council building, and the view from the windows was breathtaking to this pom – the foothills of the great dividing range, covered in gumtrees, stretching out into the distance on one side, on the other side the bright blue Pacific ocean, and in the middle a thriving city with about a dozen huge construction cranes all busy…all under a bright blue sky… Bewdy! |
McWong73 | 19 Aug 2015 4:14 p.m. PST |
That is a damn fine view. |

Congratulations mate! Beware of the great whites, bull sharks, saltwater crocs, spiders, snakes, rabid koalas, Kiwis (no, not the birds, the New Zealanders), etc., etc.. |

Welcome to our nightmare, Sparker. You know yer can't change yer mind when yer sober up? Or didn't they tell yer that bit? When are you getting your rear down to Batemans, mate, for a game, BTW? Our Moruya club meets on Tuesday nights, but we can organise something weekendish. Cheers. Dal. |

Well a quick squiz at google suggests you guys are about 3 hours south of the Gong…Thanks for the invite, will mention it to the long haired brigadier – she was on about going south for a weekend….What do you guys play? |

(I want to belong somewhere, someday …somehow) I'm pretty sure you DO belong somewhere. A place with an unhealthy & not a little sad obsession with TMP. |

A mix of stuff, mate. Saga, Charles Grant SYW (in 15mm), various iterations of Napoleonics, Ancients/Middle Ages, Napoleonic skirmish, Wings of Glory, tweaked DBA and whatever looks interesting. Phil does various Sci-Fi/GW stuff, such as Necromunda as well- he's got about 300sqm of terrain for it. Perhaps not that much, but…. 3 hours sounds about right, but allow 4+ so you can stop in Berry (great donuts and reasonable coffee/tea for you and antique/clothing/shoe shops for t'missus), the sports/toy/hobby shop in Milton (again shopping for She IS Obeyed is also present) and stopping to look at some nice coastal scenery at Jervis Bay and Huskisson. There's also the FAA Museum at Nowra, but no doubt you've found that already. Batemans is an expensive tourist town, but you get get reasonable feeds here. After Moruya (nowt special) there's Bodalla bakery & dairy (cheese specialists), which are quite nice. There's a Lavender Shoppe there too, for any needed brownie points. Bodalla is about 15min south of Moruya. There's some good views at Tuross Heads and a very nice boatshed-style fish-and-chippery. Send me an email for more info- there is a bloody lot to see south of the 'Gong, mate. Use my name (1 word) at westnet dot com dot au. Cheers. Dal. |
