So I decided to start a new website that is dedicated to continuing to play previous editions of Warhammer Fantasy given that our friends in Nottingham are going in a complete different direction than what Warhammer used to be.

For starters I am well aware of Oldhammer and my website is more in line with subsequent editions than what Oldhammer embodies. They gravitate towards the 3rd edition. I am trying to support the 6th edition as a primary with the 4th and 5th as well. I am also supporting previous editions of 40K as well.

For those disenchanted vets who don't see a reason as to why we need to focus on the latest edition, I may be able to provide a forum for you. Please do check my website out at classichammer.com if you feel inclined.

Count me in, goint back to 5th Ed. Myself. Always liked the card magic phase.

If anyone was having trouble with getting an email from the site when you register, I took that off. It may need further registration. Let me know if there are any issues.

Card based magic was the one thing I stole from 4th/5th for my 3e games. Luckily got shrinkwrapped copies of Arcane and Battle Magic for a total $40 USD a few weeks ago—quite a find!

wizbangs17 Aug 2015 10:35 a.m. PST

Interested, but there's no button under "Click here to register"
Other people have registered, so I guess it's something with my phone? Will try again later from my laptop.

Just picked up 2 shrink wrapped copies myself of 5th ed battle magic on e-bay so i would be good to go :)

Wizbangs: You know I did not check that out on a smartphone before I put this out. Hopefully the laptop will work for you.

Great idea! As a late-comer to WFB, I started in 6th and liked the diminution of heroes. I'll check it out!

Tiny Legions20 Aug 2015 6:53 p.m. PST

Please do Mars. We are still building the site out and kicking the tires, but we do have a forum up and running.

Capt Flash21 Aug 2015 8:48 a.m. PST

Registered. Looking good. Be nice to have a standardized community version of these games…

Tiny Legions23 Aug 2015 6:30 p.m. PST

Capt Flash:

Well I am going to start polling for some rules that would work in the 6th, and from there I guess that we can have a recommended list of house rules that act as a compilation to the basic rules. Similar to the cut outs that GW used to do for us gamers when they pretended to give a damn.

Capt Flash23 Aug 2015 7:01 p.m. PST

Good to hear. I'll start watching as I'm registered…

Tiny Legions21 Sep 2015 3:44 p.m. PST

We are a month out and Classic hammer now has 24 members along with a whole ton of discussion that has cropped up. Thanks for all who have decided to go there and register.

Tiny Legions27 Nov 2015 10:16 a.m. PST

So over 3 months in and we have over 50 registered users. A few of us were able to get a game posted in the battle reports, and we have had some interesting discussions on the game. I encourage anyone who is interested to take a look and see what we are all about.

Baranovich28 Nov 2015 12:33 p.m. PST

I just signed up. Looks like a great forum with some excellent conversations going on. Thank you for your efforts in setting up a forum where Warhammer players can meet up and share their thoughts and perspectives on the game!

Miz Anna26 Dec 2015 10:25 a.m. PST

Hi there, I just signed up to the forum. :) I love the idea of getting back to the editions of the games that I enjoyed most.

HidaSeku28 Dec 2015 12:06 p.m. PST

Tiny Legions, have you considered having a section for 3rd edition 40k? I noticed you have 2nd, 4th, and 5th, but no 3rd.

Tiny Legions31 Dec 2015 1:58 p.m. PST

HidaSeku:

Do you mean this forum?

Baranovich, and Miz Anna:

Welcome aboard!

HidaSeku01 Jan 2016 2:27 p.m. PST

Tiny Legions, yes, that is the one. Under the Warhammer 40k header all I see is 5th, 4th, and 2nd as subforums, with no 3rd edition subforum. As a big fan of 3rd edition 40k myself, I think it would be a good idea to add one!

I definitely like the idea of those forums, and think they fill a neat niche.

Tiny Legions13 Jan 2016 7:02 p.m. PST

You know I thought that I had a 3ed edition. I will get one out as soon as I can.

Dobber14 Jan 2016 4:48 p.m. PST

I REALLY do want to try 2nd edition 40k. the Idea of my tanks spinning out is hilarious.

HidaSeku18 Jan 2016 12:24 p.m. PST

Thanks Tiny Legions. I went ahead and made an account. I will let some of my older edition buddies know about the site, too. Great work!
