As Oriental Fantasy month has been more Yang than Yin, it's time for a few females to make an appearance on my blog:

Comments and feedback appreciated, as always.

The purple wash over silver is a good idea, came out well. Like the Oni the best.

Great stuff – I was waiting for Kitsune miniatures but will look into conversions – fantastic ideas

Thanks all.

Painting inks over metallics gives quite a good effect, depending on what base metallic and ink colour you use. For example, bronze metallic with brown ink over gives the effect of aged bronze, similar to what you see on bronzes statues that have been exposed to the elements for a while.

Similarly, if you mix a base metallic with other colours, you get a almost metallic look. The tiger skin on the oni in the above post was a mixture of Shining Gold and Blood Red (both old GW colours), which gives a slightly shiny, almost-metallic orange, which (hopefully) replicates the lustrous fur of the tiger. And the robe of the Onryo is a mix of Mithril silver and white, which gives a luminous off-white. Or would if my pictures were a little better…

John – As I said in my 'Oni the Lonely' post on my blog, as manufacturers seem to ignore some of the more unusual creatures of Japanese myth, sometimes you have to be a bit creative. If you like the Kitsune "conversion", you are going to love the Tengu in my next post.

You're obviously a 'Deep Purple' fan.
I haven't seen that much purple since I sold my Epic Legions Chaos army to a guy in Scotland on eBay.
Nicely done.
