The pose "middle bottom" is physically impossible |

But it looks so good! What were they thinking? |

The above says "head set A". What are the other options? I can't find them on the Aventine site. It would be nice to be able to model different hair and hat styles – Avar, Bulgar, Magyar, etc. Clothes were fairly universal, but hair styles varied by ethnic affiliation. |

The pose "middle bottom" is physically impossible Physically impossible or just really, really difficult? |

They are two piece kits so one could assemble the torso at any angle to the legs; I also think Keith has posed this one too far round. But they aren't cast that way. I think the chap with the standard is one of the nicest nomad minis that I've come across. Knowing Adam, head sets B to Z will follow! ;-) |

.These look very good as does the rest of the range. What kind of size are Aventine? Bigger chunkier 28 or smaller/thinner? |

Very nice – has anyone clocked the Avars in their Sassanid set? link |
BigRedBat | 16 Aug 2015 12:53 p.m. PST |
On the bigger chunkier end of the spectrum. |

Like BRB I am sure other head sets will be issued. If I carve off stirrups I think these guys will make suitable characters for ancient horse archers/light horse like Scythians or Sarmatians. The 'impossible' chap would be ideal as a Scythian. Lose the stirrups and no shield. Shame there are no Roman heads on the spear!! Wonderful looking sculpts. Thanks for the pickup Armand. Garry |

The figures mix well with Old Glory, Perry, etc. The horses with the steppe peoples ranges are great because they are actually pony size!!! I have a lot of the Sughdians. Bee-yootiful figures! They are not as chunky as Gripping Beast or Musketeer/Footsore miniatures. |
