Do you vote with "your feet" and/or "your wallet" when a convention fails to be a reasonable hobby destination? As a historically oriented gamer, and a resident of the North East, I have, over time, abandoned conventions. The tipping point happens when the event is difficult to reach, has poor custodial care and food services. |

Nope. Except for the distance I put up with minor inconveniences. Plus, sometimes I can't afford it. |

If there is something I enjoy -- I go !! Every Jan and Feb the wife and I head to the Florida keys -- it is a royal pain for us to get there -- I do not think I can expect the state of Florida to move the Keys further North just for me -- So I grin and bear the trip and enjoy the Keys regards Russ Dunaway |

A friend of mine has a saying that I've adopted over the years, "Never pay money to feel bad." So if I don't enjoy the can, I don't go. |

If I'm going to a convention to game and shop, I'll pay. If I'm going to just shop for one day, I'm not going to pay $25 USD-$30 to do it. That's money I can spend online instead or save it for a convention where I don't have to pay to shop! |

Don't we all have an idea of what's too far, too much money, etc.? As far as not attending because I was let down, no, I have not. |

I don't think I've ever gone to a game convention I didn't enjoy. I'm there to game and game and game. Eating and peeing are necessary distractions only. I've been playing Historical miniature games since 1978. I went to my first con at San Diego State in 1980. Certainly not a class act, but I was hooked. It was the people and the games. I think all you people who are fun to be with, willing to invite me into your historical creations, and teach me a little bit of history draws me to the cons. I guess distance is a factor, but I've driven over 8 hours and even flown across the country to get to a con. |

Convention planners have to make decisions, and can't please everyone with what they decide. Sometimes they make changes that I don't like. Sometimes they decide on things that keeps me from going, sometimes they don't and I do go. I don't take it personally, there are always other conventions. |

I NEVER buy the food at a convention, over-priced slop at best. Since we all know what this is really about – I have not gone to the last two Historicons due to distance, but I'm not complaining since I can make it to Fall In and Cold Wars for the day with no problem. |

I vote with my feet. I wasn't happy about the move and realized I don't need a third convention to go to every year. I go to Fall In and Cold Wars which have a nice separation of time between them. I wargame once a week so I find no need to travel over 8 hours with much aggravation potential, spend the money and see less vendors than at Cold Wars. |
