@ Legion 4 The way Tony Francis has painted these, and indeed the way I painted mine, I imagine that they are vision ports built from 12 inch thick sapphire or similar
In fact, I recon that the reason that vision section sticks of of the glacis is that's the thickness of the transparency! But yeah you'd have to have big brass ones to drive sitting behind it while folks were firing at you! John T |

Thanks, everyone – I have to admit to being completely inspired by John's forces. I've written up a simple painting guide on our blog – link It's worth a visit, there are lots more pictures of the Stewarts in action. |

Right I'm back from a brief sojourn and – as promised – a link to some of the stonking shots Tony sent me of his painted Stewart Regiment in action against their natural foes, the Hiroseki Army link
And splendid they are too – there's also a link on that page to Tony's very informative tutorial on painting your force. While I'm at it, I noticed a small mistake on the play sheet for the Stewarts versus the description in the text on this page link which was carried on to the general weapon sheets like this one (for the 15mm) PDF link So that's been fixed: Stewart Regiment PDF link The changes on the sheet are that the Anti-Tank round for the grenade launcher – as it said in the original text – has a much flatter arc than regular grenade rounds and hits a vehicle in it's side, front and rear armour rather than the top armour and therefore is affected by the Anti-buzzbomb ADS system. Also, the regiment gets the option of a sniper to help out with – amongst other things – spotting for that heavy mortar. So the weapon sheets are at version 5.3 and the Stewart Regiment Detachment Sheet is Revision 4 22/08/15. As you were, gentlemen! John T |

Thanks, John. My Stewarts saw action today, but much to my annoyance the phone died before I was able to take any photos – which is a shame as we had a nice looking setup. |

I know the feeling Tony: I played a game at SELWGs club house on Friday night with my Stewarts and Fasolini's company versus Kevin Dallimore's Alaudae on an excellent new battle mat – a neoprene printed roadway system – that SELWG had purchased. And forgot to take a camera… Doh! John T |

Hey you two stop upsetting us with these missed opportunities of eye candy heaven its enough to make me weep… I must say that Tony's last set of Stewart Regiment photos are wonderful especially the one above with the Sohei heavy tank just about to knock the crap out of those two Apollo's, it brings a new twist to the meaning of 'Road kill'. :) Zac |
