Deep Dream: Paint My Mini?

Could artificial intelligence take a photo of an unpainted figure and produce a 'painted' result?

Took my daughter to a friend's house. He ran a play test of his new Lord of the Rings / Dark ages system. Grid based, built around war bands of 4 figures + captains/heroes.

At one point a one here holds a square against wargs and orcs. Having lunch later, she said one dude holding a square is not realistic.

Her solution: divide the map into purple grids. Break each purple down into 4 blue quadrants. Break blue quadrants down into 4 small yellow squares. Single dudes hold just the yellow, small warbands occupy the blue quadrants, big warbands occupy the main purple grid.

It's actually a really cool idea….

BTW this was her first minis game ever, she's 13, and we won. At one point she killed 4 warriors of Gondor with a crossbow salvo from orcs. They hit on a 5 or 6 – caused 5 hits in 8 tries. Gondor saves on a 1-4. Missed 4 of the 5 saves. Never work with animals or children….

Pretty cool. I remember when my son first joined me and my friend and my friends son for his first Napoleonic game. The four of us play regularly now.
It's a great feeling isn't it?

Ask my friend who's warriors she wiped out. Turned out to be the most crucial die roll of the game. Wiped out the body guard of the guy trying to get across the table…

Good to hear! And looks like the guy makes up a good table.

Nice table and good plan

Is that Skip? If so he knows better than to play with youngsters, his own fault.

Oh by the way when I taught Wings of Glory to my 10 year old Grandson we played 9 games before I finally won one.

Be careful! With a quick mind like that if she slips to the dark side she'll become a rules lawyer! Ahhhh. The agility of young minds is impressive.

My daughter wrote her first set of Wargames rules when she was six. Those girls are good :)

This is some of the posts that show how pessimistic remarks of the hobby dieing out are (fortunately) rubbish ! Thank you for this ! (And of course thank your daughter ! ;-)))
