Excellent topic. Nice brushwork. Did the Poles not have tactical markings on their vehicles? |

Love the Early War afv's. Nicely done! |

@Anleiher: It is a little complicated. Prewar the Poles used a series of geometric shapes to designate platoon leaders, squadron leaders, etc., but most of these were removed due to tactical/security considerations. You will also occasionally see an AFV image with what appears to be a (possibly unofficial) unit insignia such as an arrow, a rocking horse, or what appears to me to be a wild boar. The Germans did capture some vehicles with tactical markings and/or unit insignia, but the majority of Polish vehicles during the war appear to be unmarked. That's my limited knowledge from sources in English. |

Thx. Anleiher and skippy. During the 1939 war, Polish tanks did not have signs of units. There were only exceptions to individual tanks and Renault R35 (pictures of the latter are on my blog). |

"Prewar the Poles used a series of geometric shapes to designate platoon leaders, squadron leaders, etc.," In the photos in the attachment to the OP you can see circles and squares on the boxes on the tank fenders. |
