I keep thinking it must be VERY expensive for the Empire to keep issuing new uniforms and armor. You'd think they'd standardize or something :) |

The lightsaber with the cross-guards looks like a really good way to kill yourself. And I agree with VonTed. I understand that the movie-makers need something that doesn't look exactly like previous movies, but standardization does make sense. OTOH, look at how many uniform changes that took place in WWII. Who knows? Maybe these new stormtrooper kits can actually protect the wearer from thrown rocks! :) |

Remember it is Disney and merchanising is all. Same thing with team jerseys…keep changing them so you can milk the fans. |

How many times have the Uk/US changed their uniforms in the last couple of decades ? Though Dinsey might be doing it to milk consumers, somehow I don't think the UK MOD is doing if for that reason. <sits back and reflects for a moment> Hmm, I can now see a new income stream for the MOD, sponsored uniforms sold to the "fans"… |

But at the same time they are fielding totally different armored vehicles, light vehicles, armaments – not mention entire fleets of ships of differing designs! ;-) (The Clone Wars cartoon is an excellent example of this) This will make gaming StarWars very expensive. |

That and this is 30 years after RotJ, so new uniforms aren't unexpected. |

The only thing that doesn't change are the people. In the far future, how Human will Humans look? Will they even be called Homo Sapiens any more? |

"The only thing that doesn't change are the people. In the far future, how Human will Humans look? Will they even be called Homo Sapiens any more?" Unknown, but this took place 'a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away' |
