I have just see the Ralgard ships from the Uncharted Seas range and wonder about their scale? They look like they may provide a good basis to convert some Chinese junks etc for Galleys & Galleons. I am already using the 6mm Chinese Junks from Grumpy Miniatures, but variety is the spice of like…

All my G&G stuff is nomilally 1/450 scale and all ships, regardless of the original scale, have recieved Peter Pig deck crews.

Does anyone know the nominal scale of Uncharted Seas? Would they look OK in principal along side Peter Pig vessels?

Cheers

Hi Harry,

They're 1/600 scale. I recall the intended scale being mentioned on the Spartan Games blog when they first went over to digital prototyping. They're an excellent size for detailing and rigging, without going blind… ;)

HHHmmmmm, that…. might…. just…. do…….

Thanks MacrossMartin!

Since they discontinued uncharted seas, I put my two remaining box fleet sets in a store room . One is Orc and one is elf.
I am curious about their current value.

They're not discontinued – you can still purchase direct from Spartan – but they aren't promoted or supported.

It's a shame since it's the game that got them off the ground but I guess they have to go where the money is, and right now that's Firestorm Armada & Planetfall and the Dystopian Wars games. Oh, and HALO Fleet Battles of course :)

Anyway, a friend and I are planning on dusting off our Uncharted stuff this weekend and giving it another airing. Got Imperial Human and Thaniras Elves fleets painted and ready to go, and Orc and Ralgard fleets in the box along with some extra blisters on the side.
