"This (sword)?, no other, was made by the Elves. Who'd pawn their own mothers to grab it themselves. Ruler of creeper, mortal and scallop, this is a sleeper that packs quite a wallop. ----------garbled transcription--------- if broken or busted, it cannot be remade. if found return to Sorhed, the postage is prepaid." mystery solved |

Well the 'XOX' is obviously "hugs and kisses". |

This is what I see: + NDXOXCHWDNCHDXORVI + Ignore the "+" at each end. ND 10 () 90 HWD (why is there a "stylish" lowercase "n" in there?) 100 HD 10 () R 6 If we take the "X" to be spaces, we have: ND O CHWDNCHD ORVI IVROXDHCNDWHCXOXDN, backwards. 6 R () 10 DH 100 "N" DWH 110 () 10 DN, backwards. IVRO DHCNDWHC O DN, backwards. Nothing suggests itself. I will ask my Latin/Greek/Coptic/Aramaic-speaking friend if the inscription suggests anything to him…. |

My money's on Health & Safety. One or more of; "Caution – ye edges be sharppe" "Alwayes useth protective clothynges." "Not authorised for use in treason or pillage." "Use not under ye influence of mead." |

I would put my money on a meaning like "This Sworld belongs to Orvi" (where Orvi is just the name of the owner). Just in case he looses it… |
