"I recently came across this program series which just started a few weeks back. The show uses the information that for every 1,000 people in Alaska, 5 go missing every year, some for explainable reasons, some are not. There is a large "bermuda-type triangle" within Alaska. They have an Investiagtive Team comprised of 3 people. A former Cop, an Expert on Alaskas' myths and fokelore, and an Investiagator who is familiar with the paranormal aspects. In this particular show, the storyline is that Mt. Hayes in Alaksa is notorious for lights and ufo's in the skies around it. A Hiker has gone missing and strange green lights have been seen in the sky. The hiker is never heard from again…" From here link (?) Anyone have seen it? Amicalement Armand |

I suspect the wolves and bears know why they've gone missing. IIRC, those strange green lights are also known as "The Northern Lights", so not really very strange, or unusual in those parts. Still, everyone likes a good story, or three. |

Lived in Alaska for four years and can say most ot the time it is people just being stupid. Their skill set is lacking or they vastly underestimate the danger/remoteness of the area. Most often times people just fail to tell others where they are going and what they are going to be doing so searchers have little clue finding them. |

Soviet secret bases, After all, Palin can see Russia from her house. Not to mention the Bering Sea T-55 ice road. |

After all, Palin can see Russia from her house. Actually, Tina Fey as Sarah Palin, said that on SNL. Sarah actually said you can see Russia from an Alaskan island. The island, Little Diomede, is in the middle of the Bering Sea north of the Aleutian Islands. |

Just an FYI, Palin never said that. Tina Fey as Palin said it. As to the OP, I figure in a state as big and as unsettled as Alaska, then missing people are the norm but it does make for an interesting show. |

"Lived in Alaska for four years and can say most ot the time it is people just being stupid." The sad part is, the stupid will be recycled into the environment along with the organics. |
