… For Both The F-22 And F-35. "A video published by the TV channel Zvezda shows a Sukhoi PAK FA prototype performing some stunning aerobatics that prove the excellent maneuverability of Russia's next generation radar-evading fighter jet. According to the Russians, in terms of maneuvering capabilities, the new aircraft will have no rivals both among its Russian-made predecessors and among the foreign combat planes. The aircraft is a stealth equipped with a front, side and rear AESA radar, as well as L Band radars. It features TVC (Thrust Vectoring Control), a top speed exceeding Mach 2 and a supermaneuverability that makes the T-50 able to perform, among the others, even the famous Cobra maneuver…" Full article here link

Given their other Sukhoi designs, I suspect it will be, assuming they can afford to produce more than a handful of them. |

I agree with Mako: Sukhoi builds excellent birds, but when the Russians are only buying a fraction of the F22's production run, there just won't be enough birds to make a difference. |

YouTube link They might just want to keep the know how. No one needs many, no one is expecting to fight a major enemy in the next decade? Roooo…. Of course they are and were the Agressors, the needed one. |

there just won't be enough birds to make a difference" depends on whether you assume the T-50 will only ever engage F22s |

I suppose they could go up against Chinese stealth birds. Not sure how many they plan to produce, but suspect it'll be more than the number Russia can field. My money's on the Russians though, since they have better engines and tech, at least in the near term. No doubt, China's reverse engineering their tech, and probably stealing their designs as well as those of the USA. Are the Europeans developing any stealth fighters? I don't recall reading about any in the works. |
