I just picked this up at Half Price Books for $19.98 USD and my initial read suggests the action/reaction mechanic might work well for Napoleonics. Has anyone tried this? I do enjoy "Rally Round the Flag" modified for Naps. Personally I think I'll stick with other ACW rule sets for now. |

ADF was written for both sides being in 2 ranks so a 3 rank line would have their bases a third shorter. There would be no difference in fire points but 2 ranks would possibly have an extra dice in PBF against a charge and 1 dice less on its FIV. It would probably be best to stick to the fire points for rifled muskets rather than flintlock muskets but have the flintlock musket range. The British could also form 4 ranks as a protection against cavalry as long as their flanks weren't open. Maybe requiring a terrain feature or another infantry unit on each flank. The British can't move in square whereas other nationalities move at, probably, the speed of line infantry. |
