Do you consider yourself to be primarily a historical, a fantasy, or a science fiction wargamer? If you are primarily one type or another, will you play other genres in your game club or at conventions?

I consider variety to be the spice of my wargaming life. So, I am primarily a historical wargamer with some fantasy, science fiction, spy gaming, and post-apocalyptic gaming thrown in to my gaming mix.

SF and fantasy for me. Nothing against historicals -- I dabbled a bit in various genres but never found a group.

Historical occasionally, but mostly invented scenarios in modern or recent settings…I guess sort of modern, realistic fantasy. I mostly try to get the feel of an action movie or shoot-'em-up video game.

I prefer sci-fi skirmish gaming followed by historical (Pig Wars, Bolt Action, Chain of Command, Fire and Fury) and then Fantasy such as LoTR.

I play Infinity for scifi, and have a whole pile of other minis in 15mm.

Haven't played an actual fantasy game in a while, though some people claim that Flames of War is fantasy…

It swings back and forth. 50/50 history and scifi. I don't dislike fantasy gaming but outside RPG's I do very little of it (though that may change)

I'm not much of a fantasy gamer anymore, so mostly a split between historical and sci-fi.

I started my miniature gaming career as a fantasy gamer (yeah, I'm a warhammer baby, suck it up!) but as I grew older and got more and more into history, that's gradually changed. No fantasy world yet created by any game company is as wild and fascination as the world we live in…

Largely historical. I've bought some SF figures, but they don't seem to get painted.
I do tend to try to view things from he perspective of the historical army I'm building, so there can be centaurs and satyrs to interact with my Greeks and dwarves and Norse gods to interact with my Vikings. I ran one Viking game with a nithing stick that gave one side a +1 advantage in melee. So, historical with a bit of a fantasy twist, sometimes.

Currently 2/3 Sci-Fi (Epic Armageddon) and 1/3 Historical (WW 2 or Ancients) but will happily play anything.

Historical is my main focus but it always seems to be very difficult to find anyone else interested in it.

I also like fantasy. I'd be happy to give sci-fi a go if I could find opponents for that.

We have WARMACHINE in our gaming club's (such as it is) library but I only ever played a single game of that. Also, once upon a time I ran a fantasy RPG campaign that occasionally featured miniature based combat. Nowadays I can't be bothered with context switching any more.

All of the above. I could never pick a favorite. OK, I prefer Sci-fi, then Fantasy, for RPGs. But for wargames, I'll play anything fun with a compelling story, real or invented. If you want to get more specific, I'm split pretty evenly between
-SF Skrimish
-Fantasy Skirmish and Grand Battle (SBH n' Warmaster, same minis, actually)
-French and Indian War
-Mahdist War/Colonials
-Thirty Years War
-War of the Roses

The only things I will not touch, however, are Napoleonics and Modern Africa.
