Just back from the IPMS Avon show at Thornbury where my "Stingray" game won the award for best participation game :)

I've put up a short report on my blog.

Really like Stingray. What rules did you use?

PWOR!

Well done those men!

Its a home grown set written specifically for the game. That said a few players suggested developing them as a fully fledged set of sci fi submarine rules.

Very cool. Congratulations on the award.

I have a bit of trouble relating other SF submarines and the world of Stingray but who knows. Go for it and let all see what happens. I have a bunch of VSF and SF subs which could use some good rules.

Congratulations!

Looks like fun.

Appears you have 2 or 3 Stingrays going up against 6 Terrorfish?

David Manley09 Aug 2015 9:25 p.m. PST

Yes, 2 vs 6. Stingray was usually one-shotting Terror Gish in the TV show whereas Aquaphibian missiles were less effective.

It was a fun day out. Even gotthe accolade of having the game dismissed as "uh, fantasy" by a grumpy historical gamer :)

FANTASY? Stngray? Surely not?! You will be telling me that Fireball XL5 and Thunderbirds aren't real, next. And lets not even think aout Captain Scarlett or UFO…

Excellent result! Well done.

Anything could happen in the next half hour!

And from reading your blog, I get the impression that it did!

Busted speakers, then busted miniatures! Argh! I know the feeling well…

Incidentally, who was the '**' you allude to… ? ;)

I couldn't possibly say :)

A few pictures from our War & Conquest game (and some WW2 figs) at the show can be found link

I've been looking at your pics on your blog. Congratulations on the win. Very well deserved.
