I'm going to be taking a trip to the east coast in a couple months and I am very interested in visiting a FLGS with 15mm historicals and the like similar or better than Brookhurst Hobbies on the west coast. I'll be in the Philly/Trenton/Atlantic City/NYC area. Any suggestions? Looking for Old Glory etc. Thanks! Gus |

Maplewood Hobbies in Maplewood, NJ is good and has a 15mm historical miniatures section. You could try Showcase Comics in the Granite Run Mall in Media PA. Also, for books there is On Military Matters is in Hopewell, NJ |

Just give up on Atlantic City. Nothing out here that comes close to Brookhurst. We DO have a few nice game stores in the area. Aetherstorm ga,mes in Cape May did have a decent range of FOW, not been there in years though. Time the trip for Fall-IN and have tons of selection then. |

Granite Run Mall is closed. Showcase moved to another location, you can Google them. I forget where it is, still in Delaware County though. Alternate Universe is in DELCO as well. Nothing in Philly. Eric |

You can go to the Old Glory shop itself. Might be a day trip in the opposite direction. |

Hello Gus, I hang out at Showcase Comics and I would suggest a Thursday night if possible. 12 to 15 of us meet for various games historicals mostly but also some Sci-fi and Fantasy. We are between 32 to 61 years old. Good group. Showcase is directly on rt 320. easy to get to from 476 and/or I-95. Alternate Universe is a dead store as far as mini gaming is concerned. Area is rich with gamers, should be ok as far as getting a game if you are not too picky. Shopping, Showcase carries FOW, Bolt Action, Hail Ceasar, and a slew of Space games. Also, we'll get you a real cheese steak. |

AIR Hobbies and Crafts store on Route 38 in Mt Holly NJ may have some items if they haven't closed like so many other stores in the area. There is a small gaming (usually board games) shop on Main Street in Pitman NJ. |

If you are in Trenton, On Military Matters in Hopewell, NJ is a stop for rules, books, and uniform guides for miniatures and military history. Some miniatures, too, but focus is on printed materials. Look through the Hobby News postings here on TMP for OMM to see the type of wargaming items they carry. Ask for Dennis. He's also a vendor of many decades at Cold Wars and Fall In shows. To get to OMM…If you are on I-95 north of Trenton, then about 20 or so minutes further north -- up Rte 31 about 10 minutes (15 in rush hour), turn right on Cty Hwy 654 and head west for another 10 minutes into Hopewell. Cemetery on left, OMM on right (behind Spyglass Interior Design store and next to Baxter Construction office. If you reach the light, too far. 609-466-2329. Further north in Flemington, NJ in Turntable Junction, is a Comic Book and collectibles store -- some X-wing minis. Nothing historical. About a 1/2 hour from Hopewell. North and east up Rte 202 on Main Street in Somerville, NJ is The Only Game in Town. I haven't been there in years as they've shifted more to fantasy/sci fi gaming. About 20-25 minutes from Flemington. |

Gus it really depends on where you will be located. I'm one of the Showcase guys. Let us know where your travels will take you and when you will have free time and we can be more specific to your locale. Traffic and timing can make a big difference as much as mileage. Someday when I get to visit my brother who lives in LA I have to stop in at BrookHurst. |
