I am befuddled by all the settings on this thing. All I want to do is take decent shots of my figures and dioramas.
I don't mean CLOSE UPS, but at least close enough so you can see some detail.
Is anyone familiar enough with this camera to give me the correct settings for it?
This is waht I see:

aiaf on
timer circle with somethin in it
auto ISO Shift OFF
AF assist beam OFF
Review OFF
Auto Catagory OFF
Display Overlay OFF
Set ??(looks like the printer symbol and a flash symbol) OFF

Any other hints, tips or help would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The first thing I do when I buy a new camera is download the manuals. After I lose them, I download download again. I don't always read them until I've managed to screw something but it's nice to have them around. The link above connects to the download page for the Canon PowerShot SD 1000 manuals.

Sorry I can't be more help but I've never owned that particular model of Canon.
