I have posted an article showcasing the panzerturm bunker model I constructed using the turret from Warlord Games Panzer I ausf B kit. Come take a look:

"Tread-heads" and "rivet-counters" please note that I acknowledge that I have absolutely zero evidence to confirm historical use of the Panzer I turret in the panzerturm role.

Whether actually used or not, that is an excellent piece of work.

panzer 1 turrets were used like that, I can't remember where though, for now.

There is a sentence in the Wiki article on the Pz I that turrets of both it and the Pz II were used in the Atlantic Wall. That sentence is footnoted with a link to an Atlantic Wall in Denmark web site, specifically to: atlanticwall.dk/tt.html This is a very detailed web site and I encourage your exploration of it.

So it seems that they were used, albeit in a secondary theater.

Jim,

Thanks for that, looks like I wasn't too far off!

This really rocks.

Im with you, in reality while they may have little /limited use, I have been thinking of doing the same thing with some of my excess, All Quiet on the Martian Front turrets. I so hate just tossing them out (waste).

WW I taught us 'fixed fortifications' were a thing of the past.. but you cant get over how great they (this) can look on the game table.

Paint On!! And please keep posting.
