I swear I'm not nuts. It takes only a few minutes per fig. You can see a detailed and pic-heavy how-to on my web site In Cold Lead. link

I considered arrows. I made some for one of my berserker figures (he got shot), but they're hard to make. The fletching you see… |

Great technique…and I like the effect. (Of course, I lack the patience, but I'll remember this for the odd special figure.) |

I've done something like this using thread as well. It looks great, but it is a pain to do. Most of us will probably save it for special figures or units, but it can be done as you show very clearly! |

Thaks for sharing this. My attempts to string 25/28 mm bows have only ended in frustration. |

I have used thin brass wire for the bow string. You can pre-bend it, and place in small holes drilled through the bow. For the arrow, I take a brass rod and flatten one end with a punch. Sometimes it forms an almost perfect arrow head, but if not, it is easy to shape with a small file. As for fletches, I've used thin styrene, though cardboard might be easier. I wouldn't worry so much about them, as your opponents' eyes are going to be drawn to that extremely sharp arrow head. Don |

Wax the thread first. It will give a smoother result, without the stray fibers standing up. |

I use scrap multi-strand plastic-coated electrical wire. The strands are about bowstring-scale, and can be bent to where they need to go. ;-) |
