…..in all the shenanigans. I was wondering folks, is the community here better or worse for all the battles? Do we get much gaming or modeling while its all going on? Now to my grand question or debate, what is the current era. I must admit I am rather new to wargaming 20 odd years and yet I have seen eras, Warhammer, rise of the independents, flames of war and the coming of plastic. What era are we now or headed towards? The increasing use of technology in our hobby is becoming a factor I think about often. Will we soon see opponent emulators or even a regular opponent avatar that we can play against etc? What are your thoughts? Share em and lets talk about things to come. |

Good point – I think in all the previous eras as the internet became a place to discuss our hobby there were only certain individuals that would have a website with the production values similar to the modern blog. |

I'm a blind optimist. TMP went through a bad patch & it's improving. I think Bill is putting more time & effort into TMP's core business: gaming & figures. The controversies were a distraction:
Without the nonsense, we're entering a TMP-Golden Age (see first paragraph). |

3d printing getting so cheap it changes the industry. |

Regardless of the skullduggery going on here on TMP. I'm always painting, modeling, etc. … Being DH'd only gives me more time. But TMP is not the only site I visit. |

Plastics 'new', Slappy ?? Guess you are kinda new even 20 years on. Historex and Priaral in 54, Spencer-Smith 30's and Airfix 20's have been around a looong time. BTW, JJ's suggestion is a good one re: Moe's Toys for Tots |

My Public Library has 3d printers. We are indeed at the start of a Golden Age! |

I was thinking the same thing Slappy. My guess it's just summer and many are not even looking at TMP. Or it's too "hot" to post. |

I don't know about others. But I've been able to fulfill two commissions and paint some 100 15mm figures plus a number of vehicles while most of the recent fussing has gone on. And I still manage a game day a week. Come what may on TMP. Maybe this seems strange to some, but my machine has an 'off' button… |

I have one Terrement. Just that it doesn't have a 3D printer. . |

The new era is already named by GW of course. The Age of….S……….Hatred The only thing I have noticed in recent times is a massive increase in miniatures based boardgames. .. And some of them have beautiful miniatures and competetantly enjoyable rules. Instead of just good rules or good minis just to carry the others failing. |

yeah, I am astounded at the board games out now. Tons of fantastic components and at really low prices. Heck, some of them, it's cheaper to buy the entire game just for the figures than try to source similar figures elsewhere. |
