I'm pleased to announce that the first in a series of novels set in Alien Dungeon's All Quiet on the Martian Front universe will be released early next year. Written by yours truly! Ernie Baker of Alien Dungeon, in conjunction with Vincent Rospond of Winged Hussar Publishing, selected me to write the story and I finished it up a few weeks ago. It's a rousing adventure set in the early days of the Martian invasion. It shows how ordinary people react when caught up in the calamity as well as the response at the highest levels of government. Plus battles! :) The Martian point of view is not neglected, either. I've done a lot of research to get the setting and feel of the period right. And, of course, it all fits into the background which Ernie has created for AQotMF. As noted, this is Volume 1. More stories will follow.

Thanks everyone! Alien Dungeon will probably be posting some sample chapters as the publication date gets closer. It was a hoot to write. I read this huge 3-volume biography of TR and another of Leonard Wood to get a grasp on the politics of the era. Somewhat to my surprise, Teddy and Wood ended up fairly major characters in my story! :)

Scott.
Whatever you do, don't copy Turtledove and make Custer boring! grin

John,

By the time of my novel, Custer has been dead for 32 years. So I'm afraid he's very boring. :)

That amount of rot, not boring, though no conversationalist…

Are you planning to write up the battles so they can be played right away?

I will probably post a couple of scenarios based on incidents in the book on the Alien Dungeon forum once the book comes out.

Update: The release date for the novel has been moved up to November (possibly December)! Some sample chapters will be posted elsewhere. I'll put the links here when they are up.
