I'm planning to do a couple units of cavalry for the Empire that are really non official but I want them to be less armoured/heavy than all the existing Empire cavalry. I was imagining the new light cavalry types from perry miniatures for the later 15th century but imagine those don't mix well with GW sculpts. Does anyone who plays warhammer have a box of those perry cavalry or seen them to know if any of the parts could be used in conversions? Otherwise, I'm trying to find body parts to change the empire mounted pistoliers and arqubussiers to lighter torsos, other weopons, and head types. Those horses are lighter at least without all the armour/barding I mean. |

People have done it--I have seen numerous attempts on the web--but really the arms and equipment is a bit too small. I know the GW arms and equipment look out of place on Perry bodies. I have seen more successful attempts when using Perry or the equivalent-sized heads on GW bodies, however. For mixing with my GW Empire knights, I am sticking with using militia bits and pistolier/outriders bits to customize light cavalry. I got more of the GW unarmored medieval horses by switching my Kislev lancers to armored Empire knight horses. Black Tree Helsinian knights' armored horses match up really well with the GW Empire knight horses, so I got a bunch of those during a recent BTD sale--worked out to about the same price as the GW horses back when they still sold them. |

Good idea, didn't think of going back to Kislev or even Dogs of War for bits. Will need to combine metal and plastic but it's possible. |

You can do it, think of how GW used to use metal bits for their plastic Empire kits. Pinning might be required at times, however. I also have extra plastic greatswords that I plan to raid for torsos. I have read on a thread somewhere that Glade Riders' legs work well for converting Bretonnians or Empire humans. |

Glade riders…excellent…the value of TMP triumphs again. I am also looking at a company called lead adventure forum in Germany for nice early 16th c looking troops. |

Are they the right size horses, I mean like the Clydesdales of GW? :) |
