I found information about Canadians,British,Germans. I am sure there were American trench raiders of WWI. I would appreciate if someone could steer me toward a web site or a book or other source of information. Thanks. |

I can't tell you anything about them except that the nation who gave the world flamethrowers and poison gas, had the gall to complain to the Hague about American trench raiders using automatic shotguns. |

They weren't technically automatic, but trench guns can be fired very quickly (by holding down the trigger and "pumping" the gun repeatedly). Unloading into an enemy trench would probably be quite unpleasant on the receiving end. I don't have anything specifically on American raiders but they had weaponry specifically for the tasks so I imagine they took to it easy enough, from their French and British counterparts. |

Thanx. I've served the army and been in combat, but the very idea of trench raiders is something that teerifies me the most.Imagine facing one,or to be one crawling through the no man's land; face to face combat. In my psyche :the terroe of the highest rank. |
