Having been recently binging on Game of Thrones, there were quite a few glaring similarities.

Joffrey = Octavian. Their mums were quite similar in attitude too.

Thrown spears going in the back and emerging through the chest? Check.

Mance Rayder, Edmure, Ellara Sand. Yup. Familiar faces.

Boobies? Check.

I would love to see more crossover.

BTW, Swearingen will be Sam Tarly's beloved Da next season.
Lots of HBO crossover.

Saw somewhere that the Rome producers were considering restarting as they thought GoT stole their thunder.

well they can't do a tv show worst than the old one…

The whole Rome set burned down too. That was a factor in its cancellation.

Well in atleast a few scenes in rome, the romans used shield wall. That means it more authentic then GoT, were the go to military tactic is run around like headless chickens, hit random enemies with your sword.

No wonder everybody dies like flies.

Gunfreak:

Your correct about tactics on the show (its best in some scences to just close your eyes) but not in the books where shieldwalls and pike blocks are specifically mentioned, knight charges are well described and the advantages of crossbows and longbows intelligently discussed (the author is a medieval history buff). Very good wargame material.

Good to know is just the same old bad Hollywood stage fighting.

I thought Rome was a great piece of TV.
