Shep not necessarily a wargamer but a superb modler, I had the pleasure of attending some of his painting classes years ago and learned quite allot from him. I was lucky enough one of my Canadian friends was keeping up on his condition as he was found Monday after having a massive stroke and informed me this morning of his passing yesterday. Sad to hear that. When I was a kid building model airplanes in the 70s, he was the name every modeler knew. We all wanted are models to look like his. |

Sad to hear. I read his book "How to build dioramas" from cover to cover at least a dozen times and browsed and leafed through it hundreds of times. It was my bible for many years. He was a great inspiration to me. I would say that everything i know about modelbuilding and painting and diorama building I learned from his book. |
