Painted up a mix of Battlefield/Blitz, AB Figures, WarTime, and Elhiem miniatures for the start of some SS in Normandy. I have a few more squads, some FOOs, and panzerchreck teams to round them out. Nice thing is, I can mix them in with my mid-war SS platoons for some '44 and '45 battles.

Great pea dot camo. Would love to see a tutorial as I have some of these to paint up myself. |

Fantastic job! I am working on two platoons of all these same models right now. I hope mine turn out nearly as well. |

Thanks all. @Ditto, that's a side cap – might be the angle making it look odd. It's one of the weaker Elhiem SS sculpts, being a bit soft in the face and details. Still, paints up well if you can trick the metal details with some paint. @wrgmr1, I'll provide the colors and a quick run down of how I paint the pea dot. Start over a black base coat. Apply first coat of Vallejo 826 German Camo Medium Brown. Next, add blotches of 822 German Camo Black Brown, 821 German Camo Beige, and 833 German Camo Bright Green, leaving some of the base coat showing, and trying to get some randomness to the shapes. Then, it's time to add the dots. Take the beige and cover the medium brown and black brown areas, take the black brown and cover the beige and green areas, and take the green with a bit of Citadel Scorpion Green mixed in (or another brighter green color) and cover the beige, green, and black brown areas with dots. Medium brown areas can be covered by any of the other colors. Just keep applying dots until everything sort of blends in color and the blotches disappear behind the dots. Keeping the dots a uniform size and spacing helps. When finished, check yourself in to a mental ward for painting pea dot camo across that many figures. HTH! ~iPaint |

Thanks Nick, I'll copy this post and reference it. I've painted up 700+ plus Calpe Prussians, so I'll join you in the padded room. |
