Had an uncle that landed on D-Day and have researched much of his landing area. Found some pics that show the original emplacements overlayed on more modern pics. This thread caught my eye. Thanks for sharing. |

Same deal on the Mediterranean coast of France. AS you drive along the shoreline, you will see old coastal defense bunkers turned into seaside holiday dwellings. Stopped once at a little restaurant right on the water, got out of the car, looked up a shallow draw overlooking the parking lot and there was an old concrete MG bunker covering it. The stuff is everywhere if you keep an eye out for it. B |
