Sorry but I can't find the thread. A few weeks ago there was a posting in which the question was raised if they were a going concern. My question is are they? I'd like to place an order with them but naturally I am wondering. Thanks to all. |

If you live in the US I would not order from them. I've had bad experiences and so have others. UK may be a different story. Steve |

I have had no problems with ordering from Redoubt. They are rather non-responsive with email but my orders always arrive within a reasonable time. I live in the US. |

Their packs are hit and miss some are fine, I have had some that are awful. |

ACW product excellent (got many of them) the other ranges are not as good there can be quite. Bit of flash as the molds are a bit old too. (From personal experience. Wish they would revamp or sell as the actual range of stuff is wonderful. And they have been on the scene a long time and I still like them so still relevant. Cheers |

I have had no problems with my orders from Redoubt to Canada. |

I have ordered from them before, living in the USA I sort of assume that it will take about a month to receive, I think it depends on where you hit in a production cycle. You sometimes have to clean up flash and I agree some packs are better than others (and I often just replace their horses) but some of their stuff is just plain great! I just wanted to make sure that they were still operating, thanks all for your responses and advice. Their ACW stuff is what I order, well, and 3 Musketeers stuff. |

I've been using Redoubt since the 80's and been through changes of ownership and odd periods of delays in deliveries. They are not Perry/North Star delivery speeds but you always get what you want in a couple of weeks (I'm in the UK). Quality of ranges vary but the colonial and ECW are brilliant. Equally some of the renaissance has stood the test of time very well, recent products like the Boer Gun Crew and Ottoman Battle Wagon are fab. |

Their Trojan serie is also very good and fits completely with the old Foundrys. |

They take a week or two longer than others but I have had no trouble getting orders to Australia |

I really like the ACW and FIW lines. I live in the U.S. and have placed orders with them a number of times and am satisfied with time it took to get here. |

For those in the U.S., how bad is the postage rate? I am trying to choose between Redoubt and 1st Corps and postage is a big consideration. |
JonFreitag | 01 Aug 2015 5:21 p.m. PST |
@Sloppypainter On my past orders to the USA, Redoubt charged actual shipping costs but the website puts in a standard 30% shipping charge. Even at 30% for shipping, Redoubt charges less than some other UK based companies. I like a company that charges actual shipping rates. |

Thanks for the info JonFreitag. |

I am in the US and had a great experience with Redoubt. Not only did I get them in a timely manner but they threw in a few extra figures from the range I was buying from. |

I really enjoy the figures which have tons of character and would rate their ACW as the best out there imho. Redoubts F&IW Indians are really great and give off quite an intimidating look plus the French Compagnies de la Marine are really sweet. ECW is really nice too. There are some issues with flash at times on some of the figures which will require more then a quick clean and delivery times are longer then what is normal, but I like the figures quite a bit so it's worth it to me. I have ordered from them many times and never had a problem |

I have ordered from them in the last year (I live in USA) and got my order no problem. Not speedy, but then I knew that at the front end. Everything was well packaged and labeled, however, which was important because I was ordering a ton of samples (one each of a few dozen figures) for comparison purposes. |
bigdennis | 14 Aug 2015 11:55 a.m. PST |
I ordered from them. After five weeks of no replies, I had to go to the resolution center to get a to get a snotty reply. Would not order from them again. Dennis |

Redoubt do have one small failing = not replying to e-mails very quickly. I think it's that we've come to expect an almost immediate response now we have e-mail but Redoubt are just a bit old school. But other than the email issue I've been buying stuff (and will continue to) from Redoubt for many years & always had friendly and helpful service. |

Out of curiosity, I placed an order with Redoubt to see if there was a large lag between order placement and arrival. Ordered on 01AUG2015 Order Received to USA on 17AUG2015. Shipping cost was 30% of total order value. About two weeks between ordering from the UK and delivery to the West Coast of the USA seems quite reasonable to me. Trojan War figures are exquisite by the way. |
