I have a backlog of sci-fi and speculative fiction books to read. There are some military history about Korea, Vietnam, and the Sudan 1884-1885 to read, too.

Ugh, I'll never get caught up with my reading at this rate. My remaining parent can go through several mystery books a week while it takes me a whole month for me to read one book!

I know exactly what you mean. I've probably read one or two books for the last ten I've purchased.

Never lament your book pile. Only lament a lack of book shelves.

I wish I had your problem. I switched to buying Digital books but then my partners Laptop died and she has stolen my iPad, leaving me with nothing I can lay on the couch and read.

I'm three years out from retirement, and I'm planning on reading a bunch of my backlog of books after I retire. Some of them are slated a second reading, after which they'll be sold off, creating room on the shelves, which are full.

Of course, I'm also going to paint up my backlog of figures, start a blog, learn to play a musical instrument and fix up the house so we can sell it.

I wouldn't prioritize the speculative fiction…. Half of it will come to pass soon enough….except I hope the zombie parts.

Never lament the book pile. Much worse is to have nothing new to look forward to for reading. My pile remains a relatively constant height due to birthdays, Christmas, my own purchases and the consideration of my wife. I suspect when the last trumpet calls 'Assembly' I will have books still to read … and that's the way I want it.

I agree, it is always better to have too much to read than too little. However, the best way to reduce your book pile is to turn off the computer. evil grin

@ Texas Jack Squint; …Or get pneumonia! I've got a lot of reading done the last two weeks!

Blake, my friend, never regret a book pile, just thank a teacher that you can have one.
