So this is the second part of the report found here: TMP link

Marder III is called up into the battle

picture

It moves towards the center of town

picture

picture

It opens fire on top floor of the hotel where the US 1st squad have positioned themselves

picture

picture

The shot hits the building but without much effect on 1st squad

picture

German 3rd squad have moved into the buildings adjacent to the engineers

picture

US engineer rifle team (who have been on overwatch) open fire

picture

Their fire fails to suppress the German position who return fire with vengence!

Engineer MG still pinned down

picture

picture

Meanwhile German mortars are attempting to range in on the US 2nd squad who are on the edge of the square

picture

On the street the shooting continues

picture

picture

picture

picture

The German commander is constantly having to rally his troops just to keep their resistance up (this of course is decreasing their overall morale or Battle Rating)

picture

picture

picture

picture

picture

The engineers are ready with their explosives:

picture

The charges explode

picture

Tank obstacle cleared…(this is an objective for the US so decreases the German BR)

picture

picture

picture

3rd German MG team fire down on the engineers below

picture

Another man down

picture

Sherman moves into the town rolling across the cleared area

picture

picture

picture

Engineer rifle team move into the hotel

picture

1st squad move across the street to assault the German occupants.

picture

A bloody fights erupts with the attackers launching grenades and blasting everything in sight with their thompsons…

picture

picture

Sherman opens fire on the Marder III

picture

picture

A Miss! The Sherman shoots just wide of the Marder…

picture

A close thing for the Marder, whose crew scramble to return fire…

picture

Meanwhile the dug-in German rifle team have routed leaving the MG to stand alone

picture

picture

The German BR Morale Counters are beginning to mount up…
These are received both if a unit is destroyed or when the commander decides to rally the troops

picture

The Marder returns fire

picture

Direct hit!!!

picture

The Sherman's knocked out

picture

picture

Mortar fire eventually hits the US west of town

picture

The 2nd rifle team are completely routed after a direct hit

picture

German sniper fires at the engineer MG that have been pinned down and unable to move…

picture

Sniper takes out the second of the three man MG team. Last man standing

picture

He's had enough…

picture

Now suddenly the US are feeling serious pressure; this could go either way with both sides hanging on by their fingernails

The 1st squad assault ends in victory after the German 3rd squad put up terrific resistance!

picture

4 of 1st squad have been put out of the battle

picture

Engineer team decide to put some fire down on the Marder …

picture

The gunfire from the hotel forces the Marder into a retreat

picture

picture

picture

Finally after failing its comms test for the entire battle the US FO gets through to his mortar team and with his first barrage scores a direct hit on the dug-in German MG team …how ironic that their first shot scores the winning blow of the entire battle!

picture

This final loss of the MG unit pushes the German BR just over the its force limit…

The Germans have broken!

picture

Their resolute resistance has finally broken

Superb looking game. Your YouTube vids show you've got probably the best looking WW2 table I've seen.

Elenderil30 Jul 2015 2:52 p.m. PST

I particularly liked the airborne pig in the background of one of the shots!

Excellent looking game. Your AAR brings out the drama very well. I love the rules!

Curtains, wallpaper, and flying livestock: you are the right kind of crazy.

John…once again, I am stunned by the exquisite photos. Your soldiers are painted to museum quality and the terrain looks like a diorama. I really look forward to your AARs and videos. Thanks for posting. ben

Lovely, lovely, lovely.

War Panda31 Jul 2015 6:52 a.m. PST

Thanks again guys; and yes you have to be at the very least a "little crazy" to launch a pig into space but I was a fan of the Muppets ;)

Ben, you are too kind Sir :) I'm glad you like the AAR's…I'm only too delighted to share the work I put in …I'd love to be posting more vids but time is limited.

War Panda where did the telephone towers come from? Or did you scratch build those? I think War Panda has just set a new standard for all of us to aspire and I am also inspired to present such wonderful battle reports on TMP.

War Panda31 Jul 2015 8:11 p.m. PST

Kallman, while some people spend time actually playing I'm messing around with bits and pieces making a model town. It's a part of the hobby that I most enjoy. Thank you for the compliments but really anything I do is not in the least difficult is you give it some time…for most people it probably won't seem worth the effort but it really adds a lot to my enjoyment when I do end up playing :)

The telegraph or telephone poles are wooden 4ground ones that I just painted…
