Are there a set of WW2 rules that can be learned relatively quick and have some meat to the armor rules? I'm reading up on Schwere Kompanie and they seem pretty detailed, but it seems like it's a lot to remember and hard to learn (but, I haven't played them yet) Thanks |

Tigers and Stalins. Vehicles have armor numbers based on 5 angles of deflection. AT guns have decreasing 'To Hit' numbers based on range to target. Type of gun adds modifier to destroy the target. Written for beginners and / or convention play. Some people here on TMP really like the rules. They are mine, I still have copies for sale, $6 USD free shipping in US. Dave |

Disposable Heroes doesn't seem to lend itself to larger battles, which is what I'm looking for. Thanks though! |

SK flows very easily once learned. Fireball Forward is a step down in complexity but a reasonably accurate sim as well. They are best learned by playing then reading since the mechanism, vwhile simple, is different. |

Yup, Stalins & Tigers is your game. Very elegant combat system, easy to learn. Can't go wrong for $6 USD! |

Thanks folks I Like SK and will continue reading/learning them but I do believe it's nice to have options. Jagdpanzer's price tag is excluding it. Mein Panzer looks interesting but it seems similar to SK. Disposable Heroes is skirmish base, so that's out. Might throw $6 USD at Stalins & Tigers! |

I thought the Easy Eight Enterprises "Battleground" rules were pretty decent. I think they may be OOP, but you can sometimes find them second-hand. |

Arc of fire. Played a number of enjoyable games, including N. Africa. A fiddly spotting system mars an otherwise fine set of rules that combine vehicles and infantry nicely. Played 4 or 5 squads plus 5 to 10 vehicles per side in 4 to 6 hours. |

Would any of the rules mentioned above work for 54mm skirmish gaming? Perhaps two or three armored vehicles per side -- three or four infantry squads per side? |

Schwere Kompanie is a wonderful set of rules, once you played it through a bit the initial complexity goes and it is actually much quicker to play than you would expect. Plenty of detail and a great feel to the game. Also Troy is one of the most helpful guys around if you have any queries. |

Another mention on SK, the number of charts makes it look much more complex than it is. |

Mein Panzer fits your bill pretty closely, and it is different than Schwere Kompanie which is a good game. There have been some recent posts on TMP about how the MP mechanisms work, and you can always visit the website, odgw.com. |
