So I am sitting at home with a minor issue that is more pain in the butt than anything else – and decided to watch The Douglas Fairbanks version of The Three Musketeers. Was kind of fun actually. The music was awesome – and would love to have the soundtrack. My heart still belongs to the 73 version though. |

I haven't seen the Fairbanks version, but the 1973 Richard Lester version is an object of great affection for me. I haven't seen it in years. Ron |

Fairbanks was perfect for silent movies. His charisma transferred to the screen quite well, and his athleticism was incredible. In all of his films he is clearly having a good time, and he (and we) was fortunate to work with directors who appreciated his abilities. I can highly recommend Robin Hood, The Thief of Baghdad and The Black Pirate. Great films! |

I concur, a lot of the older films are far better than the CGI garbage that we get far too often these days. |

Doug Jr. managed quite well in the 1930's version of "The Prisoner Of Zenda" vs. Ronald Colman. |
