Here, too!

Man, keep those retro-15's coming!

There is nothing quite like pig-faced orcs. I don't even game in this scale, but am nonetheless tempted by these.

I'm sure they will sell very, very well.

They remind me of my old D&D books.

Cool! I love mixing different styles of Orcs in my armies,it gives them that "different tribes" sorta feel.

The orcs-as-big-goblins conspiracy has been exposed! These are great, look forward to the half-orcs too!

Spudeus28 Jul 2015 8:28 a.m. PST

I think they prefer 'boar-faced', much more intimidating. They really do capture the old-school feel, well-done!

Steve Dean28 Jul 2015 9:05 a.m. PST

very nice.

I can't wait for these! I tried to do some 15mm pig faced orcs myself but set it aside. Maybe I'll get back to it sometime.

Who was the first to imagine or depict orcs as "pig-faced?" Was it because "Orc" rhymes with "pork?"

boy wundyr x28 Jul 2015 2:16 p.m. PST

I think most of us are tracking it back to an illustration in 1st Edition AD&D's Monster Manual. Not sure about before that.

FABET0128 Jul 2015 4:29 p.m. PST

The pig faces were probably derive from some of the work done by the Hildebrandt brothers for the Tolkien calendars in the mid 70s.
